innovation Seeker – Is an individual or an enterprise who is seeking the innovation by offering an reward or incentive they deem right.

innovation Solver – are the individuals who wish to solve the challenge the challenge seeker has posted, for reward, recognition and most importantly intellectual satisfaction.

I am an innovation Seeker

innovation seeker – Is an individual or an enterprise who is seeking the innovation by offering an reward or incentive they deem right.

Step 1 – Define the challenge and submit it to the desired solver base

The desired solver base can be derived using the basic models below. Please select appropriate model(s) from the list below to visualize your customized model.

Innovate with the help of fixed set nominated individuals
Innovate using the volunteered talent pool within your enterprise
Innovate with the help of Customers and Partners
Innovate using the global pool of talent outside your enterprise
Innovate with a research vendor of your enterprise
Innovate with an academia you have partnered with

Seeker team uses the basic workflow to identify team leader and sponsor. The designated sponsor approves the challenge before it gets submitted to solvers. In a smaller or leaner enterprise(s), workflow roles can be performed by single individual. Seeker team can track a challenge schedule in real time to act on any bottleneck.

Step 2 – Collaborate with solvers

During this step you, as a seeker, is in a waiting stage while solvers work on the solution using three stage approach a) Generate ideas b) Make solution c) Finalize solution.

Ideaken will promote the challenge during this time to attract more solvers or motivate existing solvers.

While the solution is in the making, Seeker can monitor the progress; using a dashboard where he can track the number of participating and active solvers.

Step 3 – Reward the positive outcome

Once the predefined schedule for making solution is over, all the solutions created by solvers are submitted to the seeker team.

Seeker's Reviewer team members evaluates the solutions, sponsor takes the final call on which solution meets the expectations most optimally and rewards the corresponding solver(s)

The solution(s) seeker has selected is formally handed over to the seeker with the documentation.

Seekers have the final say in deciding if solution meets the expectation or not, reward is paid out only if seeker is satisfied, in case of non satisfaction reward is refunded back to the seeker.

The spirit of collaborative innovation lives on with seeker’s fair play, appreciating solvers efforts and rewarding the deserving one.

Submit a challenge and start seeking innovation

I am an innovation Solver

innovation Solver – are the individuals who wish to solve the challenges the challenge seeker has posted, for reward, recognition and most importantly intellectual satisfaction.

Step 1 – Select a challenge

You as a solver can identify the challenge(s) in the area of your expertise, and domain of your interest. ideaken also recommends that you try out the challenges not in your domain of interest as well, it has been proven that skill mismatch (chemical engineer solving a mechanical problem and vice versa) at times can bring in surprisingly favourable results.

Platform provides a facility to segregate the challenges you come across into 1) Challenges you currently work on b) Bookmark – so you can have a look later c) Hide – you want these challenges out of your way, which you can un-hide later if required.

Step 2 – Collaborate to innovate

Each solver gets a work-area to come up with a solution for the challenge at hand. The view provides easy access to the challenge brief and the expectations. Solver can work on the solution at their own pace as long as it falls within the timelines allocated for the challenge.

Solution can be submitted by an individual or a team.

Solver solve innovations using a three stage approach a) Generate ideas b) Make solution c) Finalize solution

Generate Ideas – in this stage, the solver will brainstorm various ideas that could be potential solutions for the challenge. At this stage these are mostly one liners co-related with the list of expectations provided by the seeker.

Make Solution – Based on the ideas generated as part of the previous stage, solver will come up with an elaborate solution blueprint. The details expected are to the level where seeker can understand and appreciate the solution vis-à-vis the challenge brief and the list of expectations.

Finalize Solution –Solver does a final review of the solution before submitting it to the seeker. Solver has an option to automatically submit the solution in as-is stage when the timelines are over, which is a recommended option.

Step 3 – Get rewarded

During this stage, Seeker selects the best solution meeting the seeker teams expectations optimally and rewards the monetary reward and/or non monetary to the selected solver(s). The spirit of open innovation lives on when the deserving solver gets the reward, rest give applause and prepare to take on next challenge, solver will never finish without the feeling of an accomplishment.

Identify a challenge to work on and start solving innovation

Enterprises edition provides features mentioned in Seeker and Solver sections above, plus the following additional features.

Exclusivity

Enterprise subscription provides exclusive use of ideaken’s’ collaborative innovation platform within your enterprise
Submit the challenge only within your enterprise
User registering online from your enterprise automatically becomes an exclusive solver for your enterprise

Control

Configure the openness your enterprise is ready for, and gradually increase it at will. In other words you can decide when you want to selectively tap the talent outside your enterprise and when you don’t.
Configure all the domain that constitute your enterprise (e.g. @abc.com, @abc.us)
Opt to designate list of sponsors for your innovation projects who acts as a challenge and reward approving authority.
Get solver to agree to your customized terms & conditions before they work on your challenge, with full audit history. This feature could be useful when you selectively tap into the global pool of talent outside your enterprise.

Branding

White label, you can have your enterprise logo at the top left corner (instead of ideaken logo) displayed for your enterprise users.
Run campaigns and promote innovation within your enterprise with the help of customizable material provided by ideaken.

Flexibility

Propose non-monetary rewards for solvers within your enterprise.
NO minimum limit of USD 1,000 as a monetary reward for an individual challenge.
